An idea is born

When a gourmet and a physicist are creative and open to new things, there is a lot to suggest that a very good idea will be put into practice.

Both were the case: with a sure instinct and a lot of know-how, we tinkered with the recipes in order to develop products that do without the usual industrially used additives and therefore taste even better.

The foundation stone is laid

It all started in April 2020. Corona had us firmly under control for the first time and we and our sons considered whether we should not produce a product ourselves and bring it to the market.

Norbert, our sales and IT specialist, said clearly what people need most: namely, eating, drinking, love and sleep. It was clear to us that we wanted to produce something that was good for body and soul. Through the long-term collaboration with a dairy, the idea of a fully canned cheese soup in a glass was born.

The development

Claudia, the gourmet and creative head of our team, got to work straight away and experimented with different types of mountain cheese in a cheese soup.

Franz, the technician, worked for many weeks to make this soup durable. It was important to us not to use any additives, emulsifiers, preservatives or the like. After a number of tastings and tests and tastings and tests, the time had come: the first Allgäu cheese soup in a glass made from spicy mountain cheese and kept for at least six months without refrigeration was now perfect.

What also goes with it

Katy and Matthew from KNITTEL MEDIEN are responsible for the labels, photographs, videos and cooking clips, i.e. the visual appearance.

With our partner, the Sennerei Gunzesried, we set out to conquer new worlds and fill new shelves.

Son Sean set up sales, while son Tom is responsible for technical optimizations. Franz and Claudia are already working on new products. Because after the cheese soup is before the cheese soup. This is how the delicious Allgäu cheese soup was created

Soups, sauces and sweets

Dairies became aware of us, which is why we now also produce in organic quality and recently received our organic certification.

But since, contrary to popular belief, not everything in the Allgäu is cheese, we dared to try desserts. Our “Allgäuer Verschnauferle” is a fine apple and semolina dessert. Spooning straight out of the glass is a must here, e.g. B. when hiking, at school or at work.

We are happy and proud that we were able to realize this idea together with our team. Convince yourself and your loved ones with long-life cheese soups, sauces and fine desserts from Knittels Feinkost.
